Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be home during your visit?
No. We would need to make appropriate arrangements in advance so that I have access to your home. All access information will be kept in the strictest confidence.
Do I have to sign up for a regular schedule, or just call when I need you?
By choosing a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly cook date you are ensured a regular place on the schedule. However, occasional service is an option, although an initial consultation will still be needed.
Are you a caterer?
I am a personal chef and not a caterer. I come to your home to prepare meals in your kitchen that will serve you over a period of time. I do not have a wait staff or bartenders to serve you but could suggest a resource for these services.
Are you insured?
Yes. The Tasteful Table has liability insurance as part of being a member of the USPCA.
Do I have to do anything to prepare for your visit?
You are requested to clear any dishes from the sink area, and create adequate space in the refrigerator and freezer. If freezer items cannot fit, they will be left in the refrigerator for your reorganizing which may effect the end result of the frozen entree. Counters must be cleared of paperwork and valuables, or anything you may fear getting damaged or wet.
Do you use my equipment?
I will bring all of the necessary kitchen tools, but items such as a blender, food processor, mixer, waffle iron, large saute pan, dutch oven, etc., will need to be provided by the client since no vehicle will be used other than the cab ride to transport the groceries and equipment that morning.
What if something happens and I need to cancel or reschedule my service?
I do ask for a week's notice so that I have the option of filling that date with another client (emergency situations are an exception). If you plan on being away for several weeks, no less than two weeks notice is appreciated.
