FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions.

Below are some common questions about my services.

Are you a caterer?

No. I am not doing catering or private parties at the moment.

Do I need to be home during your visit?

The first time would be great but it’s not necessary. We would need to make arrangements in advance so that I have access to your apartment. All access information will be kept in the strictest confidence.

Do I have to do anything to prepare for your visit?

Yes. Clearing any dishes from the sink area, and creating enough space in the refrigerator and freezer is really important. Counters need to be cleared of paperwork and valuables, to keep them from getting wet or damaged.

Do I have to sign up for a regular schedule, or just call when I need you?

Only if you want a set schedule, whether it’s weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. I can’t guarantee my availability beyond a set schedule.

Do you use my kitchen equipment?

The more I can use in your kitchen, the less I have to bring with me. Ideally, having most of the important kitchen gadgets in your home/apt is the best scenario since I can’t transport my supplies in the trunk of a car. We’ll review the kitchen list before a cook day to see if some missing items can be purchased.

Are you insured?

Yes, I have liability insurance as part of being a member of the USPCA (United States Personal Chef Association).

What if something happens and I need to cancel or reschedule my service?

I do ask for a week’s notice so that I have the option of filling that date with another client (emergency situations are an exception). If you plan on being away for several weeks, no less than two weeks notice is appreciated.
